NIGERIA TO STOP IMPORTATION OF FOREIGN CARS SOON – JONATHAN

In an effort to improve and encourage the use of cars manufactured in the country, the federal Government says it would soon ban importation of foreign cars.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who made this known in an address at the opening ceremony of the 2013 Annual National Management Conference of the Nigeria Institute of Management NIM at Udo Udoma House in Uyo Akwa Ibom State, stated that the country intends to do so in order to encourage local car manufacturers especially those that are made in Nnewi motor factory.

Represented by the Alhaji Bukar Aji, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, president Jonathan said diversifying the economy away from the oil sector into Agriculture, Manufacturing and creative industries to generate jobs for the teaming masses and grow the economy is now the major focus of his administration.

He commended members of the institute for partnering the Federal Government to better the lives and wellbeing of the people of the country.
