Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Lt.Gen Abdulrahman Dambazzau, has been cautioned Gabon against dumping deportees in neighbouring countries.
He gave this warning yesterday while overseeing the evacuation six hundred and seventeen West African migrants whom the Gabonese authorities dumped in Calabar.
He warned that the Nigerian government would impound any vessel used in dumping deportees in Nigerian seaports.
The affected people were dumped at Calabar port on December 26, 2015.
The deportees are from Senegal, Burkina Faso, Benin, Niger, Mali, Chad and Guinea.
