Nicki Minaj took to Instagram to express her frustration with the state of rap music in America.

Drama started last night when the female rapper posted a screenshot of the US iTunes chart which shows two white male rappers –Post Malone and Eminem– leading the chart.

“It’s a great time to be a white rapper huh?” She captioned the post, and when people began making negative comments, she clarified her statement, saying she was only noting the changes in the industry.

These are the top 10 rap songs on US iTunes. S/O to Em & Post. Two of my faves. Congrats to Em on his new album,” she continued, and to those saying negative things, she added, “Blocking all u sensitive dick riders. It IS a great time to be a white rapper in America. I wanna sign one for my new label. U know anyone? ? I spk my mthafkn mind n if u don’t like it gtfo my page dick rida! Y’all can never wait to ride the Queen dick! Sensitive ass ig thugs. Gtfoh,” she said.

And to drive her point home, the MotorSport rapper shared a video of rapper J. Cole also noting how white people have taken over Jazz.

Though her comments stirred an important conversation about the gentrification of black culture, many people who have qualms with her decided to ignore the message and attack the messenger. Sadly too, her critics are black people who have a problem with her.

However, there are those who continue to steer the conversation to a different direction.

“Nicki Minaj is actually speaking the truth on black music and black artist, ” one person said.
