A new video showing the kidnapped Kebbi schoolgirls alongside the bandits who abducted them has gone viral, stirring fresh reactions online.
The footage, recorded before their release, captures the abductors questioning the girls while filming them with their phones.
This comes shortly after the federal government confirmed that the students taken last week had been rescued, though officials gave no details about the abductors or the circumstances surrounding their release.
In the trending clip, one of the bandits asks the girls if they are fine, and they respond loudly with “yes.”
He then asks if anyone mistreated or spoke harshly to them, to which they again reply “no.”
Another moment shows the bandit assuring them that they would soon regain their freedom, saying people were on the way to pick them up so “there can once again be peace.”
“Did we harm any of you? Did we say anything bad to you? You’re all in good health right?” he asked in Hausa.
