Photos have emerged online showing injuries allegedly sustained by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) president, Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, following an attack said to have been carried out by thugs reportedly linked to Seyi Tinubu.
Earlier reports revealed that Comrade Atiku was assaulted during the inauguration ceremony of the NANS executive council, which took place in Abuja.
The incident allegedly involved a group of armed men connected to Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, who disrupted the event violently.
The altercation occurred at The Wells Carlton Hotel in Asokoro, with notable political figures in attendance, including former Minister of Education and ex-Governor of Kano State, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, and former Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada.
In his statement, Atiku claimed the attackers stormed the venue carrying cutlasses and firearms in what he described as a coordinated assault.
He said the hotel management had warned him of possible interference, but he chose to continue with the ceremony regardless.
According to Atiku, the attackers barged into the hall during Senator Shekarau’s speech, causing chaos, stabbing several people, and looting phones and other belongings, forcing guests to flee.
He further alleged that this was not a random attack but part of a larger plan to suppress him, claiming that it followed his refusal to accept a bribe.
