Following its election in 2014, the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) have commissioned a five man committee inline with its upcoming electionary process in 2014.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President Mr. Eugene Nweke noted that the association’s plan is to curb unfavourably electionary processes which was recorded in the past with the newly elected officers.
According to him “The implementation of an electoral committee in the association’s electoral process will be an eye opener since we desire a free and fair election process”, He said
Chairman of the electoral committee, Mr. Okey Nerus who acknowledge the huge responsibility given to them by the association in the next four months promised a credible election.
In his words, “All I have at the back of my mind is to give NAGAFF my very best in the next four month and make sure that responsible and committed individuals are elected into offices”.
However, he promised that his committee will not disenfranchise anybody and ensure that each contestant is giving room for participation.
“By the time we come out with the guideline in the next Annual General Meeting(AGM), every concerned individual will be informed on our line of action”.
Adding that the electoral committee will strictly adhere to the constitution of the association in order to avoid the re-occurrence experienced by the association in its past election.
“Everything we do will be done within the armbit of our constitution. Most of the problem we had in Tin-Can Island chapter using it as a yardstick since it cuts across all chapters with our past elections surrounds the officers that were elected has many did not know what they were coming there to do, we did not give credence to the character of people coming into these offices. But being our first we are bound to make such mistakes”, He explained.
