Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has revealed that he paid N16 million to a pathologist for a second autopsy on his son.
He made this disclosure during a recent TikTok live session, emphasizing that he personally covered the cost. “Honestly, I paid an initial sum of N16 million to the pathologist. After that, I spent nearly N2 million more,” he said. Aloba added that if the pathologist refutes his statement, the public should disregard his claims entirely.
He addressed rumors suggesting he paid N12 million, insisting, “I’m still saying it—what I paid was N16 million.”
This revelation comes roughly a month after Dr. Uwom Eze conducted an independent autopsy and forensic review, which was unable to determine the exact cause of Mohbad’s death.
In June 2024, a Coroner Court magistrate, T.A. Shotobi, in Ikorodu, Lagos State, had granted Aloba permission to engage a licensed pathologist for the independent examination.
