The late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, was a friend of Nigerian artist Owodunni Ibrahim, better known as Primeboy. Following the events that led to Mohbad’s passing, Lagos State Police Command issued a wanted notice for Primeboy on Tuesday.
According to Torizone, Primeboy has been listed as a wanted person, and a reward of N1 million has been offered to anyone who can help bring him to justice.
Primeboy allegedly disregarded the request to conduct an investigation into Mohbad’s death, according to the Police.
However, Primeboy claimed that he was never invited by the Police in an interview with TVC before giving himself in on Wednesday.
When he was accused of being responsible for the death of his late buddy, he said, he made an effort to go to the police station to clear his identity.
“I have never received an invitation from the police, it is a big lie that I did,” he proclaimed. I had wanted to defend myself at the station once people started accusing me of killing Mohbad before this matter of proclaiming me wanted arose.
My lawyer and the others I spoke to suggested that I wait for a police invitation rather than going to the station to explain my situation. The news that the police had made me wanted for N1 million to anyone who knew where I was came as a shock.
Primeboy responded to inquiries about whether he was with Mohbad on his most recent show and whether or not they got into a fight by claiming that while they did have problems, it was because of an argument he had with his wife in the car on the day he left for his Ikorodu gig.
“As he (Mohbad) attempted to exit the vehicle, a violent argument developed between him and his wife. But I stopped him, telling him it wasn’t safe because Zlatan was still on stage. I was then instructed to exit the vehicle by him. I did, too.
