Media personality Moet Abebe recently shared her experiences with men in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
In an interview on *Cocktails and Takeaways*, the popular on-air personality recounted making male friends with some Guinea Bissau and Moroccan men while in the UK.
She explained that these types of men likely wouldn’t approach her in Nigeria due to the country’s class-conscious culture. In Nigeria, men typically won’t engage with women they perceive as being on a different social level.
In contrast, she noted that in the UK, men from various backgrounds—like Uber drivers or those working at McDonald’s—don’t hesitate to approach women, even if they carry high-end designer items like a Gucci bag.
Moet pointed out that in Nigeria, getting to know men often centers around what they can provide, the car they drive, and their financial status, while in the UK, the dynamics are less defined by material standards.
