While attending a youth event at the Sci-Bono Discovery Center in Johannesburg as part of her big diplomatic trip to Africa this week with Barack, First Lady Michelle Obama took to the stage rocking a chiffon blouse from the spring/summer 2013 line of Nigerian brand and FADER favorite Maki Oh, designed by the Lagos-based Amaka Osakwe. Known stateside for rocking emerging designers from America, it’s so cool to see the always fly Mrs. Obama wear a young designer from Africa while visiting the continent, especially if it’s Maki Oh, a brand that we adore so, so much.
