Ayorinde said that the accused had presented himself as a medical doctor using the certificate of one Dr Akeem Adeniji to work at the Agege Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC).

“It was discovered that the accused had used Dr Adeniji’s certificate to get employment as a medical officer at Agege PHCC.

“He forged Lagos State Primary Health Care identity card with the name Dr Akeem Adeniji.

“The accused also opened a salary account with Diamond bank Plc and had obtained N2.244 million from the Lagos State Ministry of Health as salary under the pretext that he is Adeniji,” he said.

The prosecutor submitted that the offences contravened Sections 78, 285, 312 and 363 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Section 312 prescribes seven years imprisonment for offender found guilty of the offence.

Awope said the sureties must be on grade level 12 above and adjourned the case till July 1 for hearing.
