Naijalog gathered that many of many roadside traders, passersby, commercial motorcyclists, motorists and others in the vicinity at the time, were caught unaware as they just suddenly saw themselves on fire.

Eyewitnesses say that tanker was coming  from the Challenge end of Molete before the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to what seemed to be a brake failure, the tanker rammed into a pole, which led to the tragedy.

Accounts also suggested that some football lovers who were  discussing the loss of Nigeria to Sudan by one goal in the first leg of the Africa Confederation Cup qualifiers under the bridge when the fire disaster began also lost their lives.

Many person who also initial took refuge inside shops that were nearby also lost their lives in the inferno, just as many properties were destroyed.

The bodies of the dead have been deposited at the University College Hospital morgue, while the injured are being attended to at various hospitals within the Ibadan metropolis.

Also, the Oyo State government has since commiserated with the family of the dead and Governor Abiola Ajimobi also paid a visit to the scene of the accident on Sunday.
