An 11-year-old girl  has been raped repeatedly over the period of 6 months by a 39-year-old-man, Dunstan Ukaga, who claims to be a freelance journalist , an Ebute-Metta Chief Magistrate Court  heard yesterday.

Ukaga is facing a one count charge of having unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl-child.

The girl was sexually assaulted severally between 24 April and 28 September, at his residence, at Road 311, Block 2, flat 6, Festac Town, Lagos, Police prosecutor, DSP Etim Ekankum told the court.

Magistrate Demi-Ajayi granted the accused bail in the sum N500,000 with two sureties in like sum after he pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate also ordered that the two sureties deposit N30,000 each to account of the court’s Chief Registrar, and present to court evidence of three years tax payment to Lagos State government.

She adjourned the case to the 26th of November after ordering the police prosecutor to duplicate the case file and forward it to the Director of Public Prosecution for advice.
