Jane Eugene, the lead vocalist of the iconic 1980s British R&B group Loose Ends, has reportedly been arrested by U.S. immigration authorities for allegedly overstaying her visa by 26 years.
According to sources, the singer was detained at the Niagara Falls border on May 3, 2025, after being denied entry into Canada. It was revealed that she had applied for a green card in 1999, but her request was rejected.
Eugene had been residing in Los Angeles, where she continued performing with a U.S.-based version of Loose Ends.
With this development, she now faces potential removal proceedings and a 10-year re-entry ban, which could severely affect her ability to perform and continue her music career in the United States.
As of now, neither Jane Eugene nor her management team has released any official statement regarding the incident.
