Liverpool missed the opportunity to widen the gap over their Premier League rivals after a 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.
Arsenal’s 1-1 stalemate with Brighton a day earlier had given the Reds a chance to extend their lead to eight points at the top of the table.
The first half at Anfield ended without goals, as both teams struggled to create significant scoring opportunities.
United broke the deadlock in the second half with a stunning strike from Lisandro Martinez. Liverpool responded swiftly, with Cody Gakpo equalizing just five minutes later, followed by Mohamed Salah converting a penalty to give the home side the lead.
However, Amad Diallo ensured United secured a share of the points, finishing off a cross from Alejandro Garnacho.
The draw keeps Liverpool six points ahead of Arsenal, with the Reds still holding a game in hand.
