Renowned Nigerian blogger Linda Ikeji speaks out about her son adopting her surname rather than his father’s.
There was widespread speculation when she referred to her son as Jayce Ikeji in a post, leading some to believe she had changed his surname to match hers.
Linda Ikeji stated on her Instagram page that she did not alter her son’s name as he has always been an Ikeji since birth.
She mentioned that if her son decides to change it in the future, it will be entirely up to him.

“Just to be clear. I’ve NEVER ever had to change my sows surname. He’s been an Ikeji right from when he was born! Where do I have the time or patience to be changing name? Changing Or keeping his sumame (Ikeji) will be up to him when of age Food for my junior colleagues”
