The Lagos State Police Command has acknowledged the formal complaint lodged by Tiwa Savage against Davido.
Tiwa Savage submitted a petition against her colleague, Davido (David Adeleke), accusing him of harassment and threats to her life. The petition specifically mentioned derogatory language used by Davido in response to a post involving Tiwa Savage and the singer’s baby mama, Sophia Momodu.
In the petition, the “Somebody’s Son” singer expressed her disappointment with Davido’s threats and reminded him of her consistent support during challenging times for his family, including the loss of his son Ifeanyi. Tiwa Savage also claimed to have received inquiries from acquaintances about her actions that might have provoked Davido and her friendship with Sophia.
In response to an inquiry from PUNCH, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed on Tuesday that an investigation has been launched into the allegations. He stated, “I can confirm to you that we have received the petition, and investigation has commenced.”
