Prof. Adeniyi Gbadegesin, the Vice-Chancellor, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has commended the institution’s team which won the 2014 Google Online Marketing Challenge for Middle East and Africa.

He made the commendation on Monday in Ogbomoso when he received the team of LAUTECH undergraduates, and also commended the founding fathers of the institution for laying a good foundation and worthy legacy.

He said that the curriculum which made it mandatory for all intakes to register and offer same courses at the 100 level had continued to put the university ahead of its peers.

An online statement dated Sept. 4, said that the university’s representatives won the contest.

Gbadegesin said some other students whose course of study was not related to ICT had also won other ICT related awards.

He urged students of the institution to remain good ambassadors of the university.

He said the team would soon leave the country for Dublin, Ireland, to visit Google office for workshop.

Some members of the team are: Adedoyin Jelili, Olayanju Abiodun and Adeosun Oluwole of Mechanical Engineering Department.

Others are Adesina Jamiu and Akadiri Olawole, both of the Urban and Regional Planning Department, while Salami Ismaila is of the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry. (NAN)
