An All Progressives Congress ward congress in Shomolu area of Lagos turned bloody when a sitting Commissioner allegedly assaulted a top party chieftain, Honourable Olugbenga Hakeem Abdullahi (a.k.a Naa Gbenga).

According to reports monitored inside the National Mirror, the incidence occurred at the headquarters of the Shomolu local government council on Monday, April 7.

A top APC who also witnessed the incident, but who did not want his name metioned said Abdullahi  incurred the wrath of the commissioner when he challenged and tried stopping him from bringing unknown faces to the ward congress.

In the ensuing argument, the commissioner and the thugs rained punches on Addullahi.

Speaking from his hospital bed, where he his still nursing the injuries sustained, Abdullahi said he has reported the case to the police and is also in conjuction with some other party leaders planniong to send a petition to the governor.

Efforts to reach the Commissioner proved abortive, but one of his aides, Kassim, who spoke on the issue denied that his boss was involved in the fight
