Activist and associate of Verydarkman, Kokopee, has taken to social media to raise an alarm, alleging that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are now pursuing him.
This revelation comes amid ongoing protests across various parts of the country calling for the release of social media activist Verydarkman. Kokopee, who has been vocally advocating for his friend’s freedom, expressed frustration that he’s now allegedly being targeted by the EFCC.
According to him, his only offense was demanding the release of someone he believes is innocent.
He stated:
“Rather than releasing a statement or letting VDM go, EFCC is now coming after me. What did I do? All I did was speak up. Is it wrong to support someone who helps others? Did I ruin your plans by demanding his release?”
Reactions online include:
@SegXmeta: “Nothing can stop this move. VDM must be freed.”
@timi_fred: “You say you’re not afraid of arrest, but now you’re hiding? Make it make sense.”
@naijamplifaya: “Why are they detaining him with no charges? This is concerning.”
@Tioluwalope0: “Kokopee just wants clout. His statements don’t even add up.”
