A media aide to the Governor of Kano, Rabiu Kwankwaso has debunked news making the rounds that a new Emir of Kano has been appointed.
Senior Special Assistant on Media, Jaafar Jaafar noted that the governor is yet to make the official pronouncement, but would do so later this evening.
“Contrary to recent media reports that the new Emir of Kano has been announced, the Governor of Kano State did not make such announcement at the moment. As promised, he is expected to take decision and make announcement later today,” Mr. Jaafar said.
We reported earlier that a tweet attributed to Sanusi Lamido, ex-CBN governor, who is also amongst those being considered from the exalted suggested that Sunusi Ado-Bayero, son of the late emir will be announced the new Emir later today.
