Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has sacked the chairpersons of the state’s 23 local government caretaker councils.
This was disclosed by the State Commissioner of Information, Odey Ageh, on Wednesday.
One of the affected council chairmen, told an online source (not greennews.ng) that they had been informed ahead of the sack to handover all government properties including officials cars in their possession to Director Generals, Local Government Administration and Service unfailingly by Thursday.
Local govt elections in the state are expected to hold in September.
