A former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode on Thursday said the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan was the worst in the history of Nigeria as a result of endemic corruption and in infrastructural development.
He spoke in an interview with journalists at the Ilorin International Airport after attending the one year anniversary of the death of the Second Republic Senate Leader, Dr. Olusola Saraki.
He said, “My views are clearly well known about President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. There is no point in inflaming passion; they are very sensitive. If you say anything negative about them, they get upset and begin to haul abuses.
“But let me give you straight: This is probably one of the worst governments this country has ever known (in terms of corruption and lack of infrastructure provision) and I think that it is incumbent on
every right thinking Nigerian, whether in G-7, New Peoples Democratic Party, the All Progressives Congress or any other party to get them out of office and that is our objective.”
He also said the designation of violent Islamic sects -Boko Haram and Ansaru- by the United States as terrorist groups was long overdue.
He said the US government should have done that long before the wanton destruction of lives and property in the country by the terrorist groups.
He added that if the Federal Government had encouraged the US government to declare the two groups as terrorists groups long before now, many lives would have been saved.
The former Minister claimed that Nigeria had lost about 7,000 lives to terrorist activities within the past two years.
