Nollywood actress Jemima Osunde has opened up about a traumatic experience involving a life-threatening illness she contracted while filming on a movie set in Ibadan, Oyo State.
She revealed that three years ago, she developed GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) from the food consumed during the production. Since then, she has been battling the condition, which she disclosed has significantly worsened over the past month.
On her X handle, she wrote, “I’ve never regretted anything the way I regret taking that job and going with them to Ibadan to shoot under their care.. Got h pylori from set food and the aftermath GERD has left me fighting for my life the last 3 years.
“The past month has really been something. *sigh”
Reacting to Osunde’s post, her colleague Omowunmi Dada shared a similar experience, narrating how she was abandoned at a hotel after contracting sepsis while at a filming location in Oyo.
She said after she luckily survived the illness, the producer reached out to her for a refund.
