The ongoing rift between Nollywood stars Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin has reignited, as Ojo announces plans to pursue new legal action against her colleague for alleged defamation, threats, and repeated curses directed at her and her family.
This fresh development comes months after the Lagos State High Court, Osborne Division, dismissed Ojo’s ₦1 billion defamation lawsuit against Anjorin due to procedural errors. The court also ordered Ojo’s lawyer, Olabimpe Ajegbomogun, to pay ₦500,000 in costs to Anjorin’s counsel, Ademola Olabiyi.
In a detailed Instagram post shared on Monday, Ojo revealed that her legal team has been actively documenting Anjorin’s remarks and activities in preparation for renewed legal steps.
“My legal team isn’t sleeping. They are taking note of everything. A wise person listens to learned counsel. Everything has its timing,” she stated.
Heartbreaking curses and threats
Ojo expressed pain over the repeated insults and alleged death wishes Anjorin has made toward her children and grandchild, noting that she has chosen silence to avoid unnecessary drama.
“The insults, curses, even death wishes Liz has directed at my family, especially my grandson, are heartbreaking. Most times, I struggle to hold my peace, but I choose to ignore the distractions. Who God has blessed, no one can curse,” she wrote.
She explained that she had been focused on supporting her daughter through childbirth and spending time with her new grandchild, but hinted that upon returning to Lagos, she intends to take stronger legal action.
Years of animosity
The feud between Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin dates back several years and has frequently played out both online and in court.
Tensions reportedly escalated after Ojo publicly supported Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General and daughter of President Bola Tinubu, who is married to Anjorin’s husband. The gesture allegedly sparked online attacks from Anjorin, which have continued through Facebook Live broadcasts and social media taunts.
Ojo has also accused Anjorin of orchestrating threats against her family, citing a letter sent to her daughter Priscilla in May, warning that their movements were being monitored.
The conflict intensified after a fire outbreak at Ojo’s Lagos office, which she linked to the ongoing threats stating that Anjorin should be held accountable if any harm befell her or her loved ones.
Preparing for the next legal move
Despite the earlier court setback, Ojo maintained that her silence has been intentional and guided by legal advice. She stressed that the time for decisive action is near.
“Silence can be powerful,” she remarked, noting that while she chose peace for the sake of her family, she would no longer let the issue slide.
With years of lawsuits, petitions, online jabs, and public confrontations, the Iyabo Ojo–Lizzy Anjorin saga remains one of Nollywood’s most intense and publicized feuds and it appears far from over.
