Veteran Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has spoken out about Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti’s support for a critic who accused her of taking N65M to seek justice for Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Music. This comes after Seun Kuti publicly backed the critic, who was recently re-arrested by the police for defamation allegations.
In a message to Kuti, Ojo explained her decision to pursue a case against the critic. She clarified that the critic accused her and others of accepting N65M from people to seek justice for Mohbad, a claim she strongly refuted. Ojo emphasized that she wouldn’t have taken issue with the critic if he hadn’t explicitly accused her of such actions.
Contrary to the critic’s allegation, Ojo disclosed that she personally funded legal representation for Mohbad’s case. She also mentioned how her husband advised her to drop the case, only for the critic to target him following Davido’s lavish wedding.
