The founder and General Overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration over the country’s worsening security challenges and harsh economic conditions.

Delivering a fiery sermon from the pulpit, the prominent cleric expressed deep anger over the persistent attacks and loss of lives across Nigeria, warning that divine judgment is imminent for those behind the violence.

A Call to Action Against Sponsored Violence

Bishop Oyedepo asserted that the ongoing insecurity plaguing various regions of the country is not random, but rather sponsored by powerful individuals. He cautioned that the current state of tolerance has reached its limit and warned of impending consequences.

“The president needs to act now and stop pretending,” Oyedepo declared, venting his frustration over the government’s apparent helplessness. “You can’t slaughter members of my family and expect me to pray for you. I will pray against you and your household.”

Criticism of Government’s Silence and Priorities

Expressing concern over the lack of visible action, Oyedepo questioned why the presidency and security agencies have failed to curb the daily killings of citizens by armed groups. He lamented that the value of human life in Nigeria seems to have diminished significantly.

“Gunmen kill people every day, and the government is pretending not to know what to do,” the bishop fumed. “I’ve kept quiet. When you see God keep quiet at wickedness, it’s because the bubble is about to burst.”

He further pointed out what he viewed as misplaced priorities by authorities, criticizing minor regulations while major security crises remain unresolved. “I have not heard any statement from government quarters against the killings. I’m yet to hear one, sir. Are human lives not of value anymore? And now you say people mustn’t preach in buses. Is that the real issue? Do you think we are dummies?”

Concluding his message, the influential religious leader stated that the Christian community had been waiting patiently for divine intervention, and warned those responsible for the country’s woes that they would find no hiding place when the consequences of their actions catch up with them.
