INEC TO DECIDE ON POLL SHIFT SATURDAY

Nigerians will no if elections will hold this month on Saturday, Kayode Idowu, spokesperson of the Independent National Electoral Commission said in a statement.

“As a follow-up to that meeting (council of state meeting), the commission has scheduled a consultative meeting with chairmen and secretaries of all registered political parties, as well as a meeting with the resident electoral commissioners (RECs) on Saturday, February 7, 2015,”  Idowu noted in the statement released on Friday.

He also revealed that the commission would address a press conference to brief the nation on its decision “with regard to whether or not the general election will hold as currently scheduled”.

 

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC will on Saturday meet with chairmen and secretaries of all registered political parties in the country to agree on whether or not to postpone the February elections.

According to PREMIUM TIMES, INEC announced the meeting via a statement issued by Kayode Idowu, spokesperson for the commission.

Resident electoral commissioners [RECs] are also expected to attend the meeting.
