Between January and September 2022, the Ebonyi State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, seized 179.102 kilograms of illicit drugs in the state.
Mr Iyke Uche, the State Commander, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abakaliki, noting that the seizures took place in a variety of locations, including rural communities.
Uche listed the drugs seized as cannabis sativa, tramadol, flunitrazepam, methamphetamine, also known locally as ‘Mkpurummiri,’ and other illicit substances.
