Lami Odiniya has confirmed that Emmanuel Odiniya has been released from police custody following the viral incident involving Ilebaye.
Mr. Odiniya was reportedly detained at the Wuye Divisional Police Station on May 9 after a disturbing video surfaced online showing Ilebaye with visible facial injuries while appearing emotionally distressed.
According to Lami, the incident happened when Ilebaye visited her father’s residence to see her younger brothers and discuss plans ahead of her 24th birthday celebration.
She alleged that the discussion later became heated after Mr. Odiniya accused the reality TV star of being “engineered” by her mother.
The situation has also drawn attention to the family’s strained relationship following the end of the couple’s 32-year marriage.
Lami revealed that a court had previously granted custody of their two sons, aged 11 and 14, to Mr. Odiniya.
However, after his arrest earlier in the day, the boys were temporarily placed in her care before police later ordered that they be returned to their father’s residence due to the existing court ruling.
She also denied rumours circulating online that Ilebaye was under the influence of drugs during the incident.
According to her, the reality star has since been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment, including multiple intravenous drips to help stabilise her condition.
Attempts to get an official response from Josephine Adeh were reportedly unsuccessful at the time the report was filed.
