Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has ignited a major conversation online following a passionate and bold declaration about her journey as a single mother. Dismissing societal stereotypes, the actress argued that true success is defined by personal stability and the well-being of one’s children, rather than marital status.
From Struggle to Success
Reflecting on her past, Ojo noted that despite the immense challenges of raising her children alone at a young age, a time filled with uncertainty and exhaustion, her life has turned out far better than many anticipated. She attributed her current status, including becoming a landlady in Lekki, entirely to her resilience and faith in God.
She stated:
“There’s confusion in their midst. I’m the president-general of single mothers because my daughter has succeeded, my son has succeeded, and my life is better. When you’re raising children at a young age, you almost run mad. There were times I didn’t know which road to pass. If they told me I’d be a landlady in Lekki, I’d say it was a lie. It wasn’t me, it was God,”
On Relationships and Responsible Fathers
Addressing the dynamics of relationships, she emphasized that marriage involves choices made by both parties. She also took a moment to express her deep admiration for fathers who actively participate in raising their children.
She added:
“Na man go leave you, na man go marry you. Na woman go leave you, na woman go marry you. Put your faith in God and see whether God will not do it for you. I easily fall in love with fathers that take care of their children,”
