Crown Uzama, also known as Shallipopi, a rising Nigerian musician, recently shared how he utilized his first music earnings during an interview with Hip Hop artist Odumodublck on the Turntable podcast.
Following the release of his hit track ‘Elon Musk’ and the subsequent influx of money, Shallipopi confessed that he spent it on frequenting oscroh, a term synonymous with sex workers in street slang.
In response to Odumodublck’s inquiry about his initial purchases after the success of ‘Elon Musk,’ Shallipopi admitted that he used the earnings to engage the services of sex workers rather than buying material possessions like chains.
Addressing the online criticism his music received, Shallipopi emphasized his ability to ignore the negativity and continue pursuing his passion. He stressed the importance of staying focused on one’s goals despite the opinions of detractors, emphasizing that not everyone will appreciate one’s work.
Odumodublvck asked; “When Elon Musk blow, wetin be the first thing wey you buy? No be this chain.”
Shallipopi replied; “I chop am na, normal. I no buy chow. I use am order oscroh [sex workers].”
“When my music was being trolled online, I ignored it because you don’t have to listen to the naysayers. Just keep doing your thing. Who like you like you, who no like you, no like you. Everybody can’t like you,” he added.
