No fewer than seven persons, including six students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, and a security man attached to a private students’ hostel in the school community have been killed in a cult related clash.
It was gathered that the university became a field of death after gunmen, suspected to belong to a cult group, apparently on a reprisal to avenge the killing of one of their members on Monday, stormed the private hostel, called Shammah Hostel, on Tuesday night and shot sporadically, killing no fewer than six persons.
Although at the time of filing this report, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Moses Yamu said five persons were killed in the Tuesday night attack, sources from the area said six persons were killed even as another corpse was found locked up in a room with many injured students after the police came to evacuate five dead bodies.
