FUNAAB Recalls 23 Sacked Workers

The Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB), Abeokuta, is set to recall 23 staff of the institution sacked for misconduct.

This was made known in a communique issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Emi Alawode and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta.

According to Alawode, the decision to recall the sacked workers was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the 91st Meeting of the Governing Council, held recently, at the National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja and signed by the Acting Registrar and Secretary to the council, Mr Obafemi Oginni.

It stated that the decision to recall the sacked workers was taken following series of appeals from within and outside the university community.

It also directed that each of the 23 members of staff concerned,  should, within 48 hours, send a Letter of Appeal to the Secretary, Council Committee on Investigation of the Lingering Industrial Unrest and Tension, Acting Registrar’s Office between Friday, Dec. 16th and Monday, December 19, 2016.

It will be recalled that the Governing Council, FUNAAB, sacked 18 staff members of the institution, while five others were relieved of their appointments.
