Suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is due appear before the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC) to answer questions on the financial accounts of the bank for the financial years ending December 31, 2011 and 2012.
Others invited to appear before the council are the acting Governor of the CBN, Dr. Sarah Alade; immediate past Deputy Governor, Operations of the CBN, Tunde Lemo , the former Managing Director/CEO of the defunct Intercontinental Bank, Erastus Akingbola; and 12 others, reports ThisDay.
The council plans to dig deeper into transactions and events that impacted on the said 2011 and 2012 financial accounts from earlier years, their implications for later periods and the roles the key officials played in all these.
Sanusi is expected to appear on Thursday around 11 a.m at the FRC head office in Lagos. Others to be questioned at the Thursday session are Alade; Lemo; Managing Director of the Bank of Industry (BoI), Evelyn Oputu; Deputy Governor, Operations, CBN, Dr. Kingsley Moghalu; Deputy Governor, Corporate Services, CBN, Suleiman Barau and three other.
