A cross section of Nigerians on Twitter have expressed their disappointment over the appointment of Dr. Tunde Fowler as the new CEO/Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
Nigerians who use the social media platform believe Fowler shouldn’t have been appointed because he possesses a fake honorary degree from a unaccredited Irish University, the Irish International University.
Fowler had his higher education in the United States where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Business Administration degree from the California State University. Fowler, who holds an Honorary Doctorate Degree of the Irish International University, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Business Management Association of the United Kingdom.
While, announcing his appointment, Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity stated that Fowler will occupy the position in acting capacity until his appointment is confirmed by the Senate.
