Nissan has made history, as it became the first major car maker to have produced a car locally in Nigeria.
The inaugural vehicle, a Nissan Patrol, rolled off the production line from the old Volkswagen assembly plant in Lagos.
The feat followed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on local assembly between the Renault-Nissan Alliance and the Stallion Group.
In addition to the Patrol, the company also plan to produce the Almera and NP300, starting in early May, followed by mass production in August.
