Tuesday, 14th January, 2014 has been declared public holiday by the Federal Government of Nigeria to commemorate the Eid-el-Maulud cerebration.
Comrade Abba Moro, the Minister of Interior made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Fatima Bamidele, and made available to the Press on Thursday.
The minister enjoined all Muslim faithful and Nigerians in general to support, co-operate and join hands with President Goodluck Jonathan in his sustained effort to build a peaceful, united and virile nation.
While wishing all Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Maulud celebration, he further urged them to use the occasion to pray for peace across the nation.
