Ekiti State Governor, Mr Peter Ayodele Fayose is really serious about fulfilling a ‘cardinal programme’ of his administration: installing a regime of ‘stomach infrastructure’.

In continuation of the programme, Fayose has been distributing chicken, rice and money to widows and old people in the state, beginning from Ado Ekiti, the capital.

With Christmas a few days away, the governor has his eyes in ensuring that his people have food to eat.

A press statement said no fewer than 80,000 chickens, 100,000 bags of rice are being given out, with the governor personally involved in handing out the foodstuffs to the people.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Idowu Adelusi, said Governor Fayose after satisfying the multitude of people who came for the food aid at his office, moved to the market.

“Some of the beneficiaries, including Mr Jewoola from Ado-Ekiti, Mr Ife Akinyeye and Mrs Afolabi Mary noted that the gesture has again reaffirmed the governor as a graasroots man to the core.

“They appreciated the governor for putting himself in the shoes of the common man who may find it difficult to prepare sumptous meal to his family at this period of festivity.

Governor Fayose later told newsmen that taking care of the people is a priority of his administration.
