Renowned music executive, Soso Soberekon, has pledged a whopping ₦20 million to support a rematch between controversial singers Speed Darlington and Portable.
This announcement comes in the wake of Portable’s win over Darlington in their recent celebrity boxing bout titled “Chaos in the Rings.”
After his defeat, Speed Darlington alleged that Portable used “juju” (charms) during the fight and took to Instagram to demand a rematch.
Responding to the post, Soso Soberekon commented:
“Rematch 20m for the winner. @speeddarlintv you have my number or tell the promoters to reach out to me.”
Interestingly, before this new development, Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy had gifted Portable ₦20 million for his victory. Following that, Portable declared that he had no interest in a rematch with Darlington and would prefer a new opponent instead.
Social media reactions poured in:
- @Iam_fizy: “Until Akpi ends up in a coffin, una no go rest 🤣🤣🤣”
- @ivoh_ivoh: “This might just be the birth of Nigerian UFC. Let’s make Lagos the next Las Vegas!”
- @Money_man2_0: “They clearly want Speed Darlington finished.”
- @Chrisdaramola_1: “Akpi no dey carry last. He’ll handle it this time.”
- @NotMrNobody1960: “We hype everything except what truly matters. But hey, chase the bag and to hell with the rest.”
