FAKE PASTOR NABBED OVER ALLEGED N10M FRAUD

The Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Yaba, has arrested a fraudulent pastor,  Chibuzor Nnaegbo, over alleged defrauding of four businessmen to the tune of N10 million in Lagos.

It was learnt that the pastor pretended to be in Israel while using a coded MTN number to defraud unsuspecting victims. One of those conned by the suspect gave his name as Nzeh Remigius.

According to reports, Mr. Nnaegbo, who hails from Anambra State, deceived his victims by telling them that he had issues in Israel where he was trying to set up a church. He claimed to have sowed proceeds from the fraud in two mega churches in Lagos.
The so-called man of God, was arrested at Igando, after one of the victims got suspicious of the incessant demands that came from the pastor who was in Israel.

While confessing to the crime, He said, “My problem started while I was pastoring a church in Onitsha; I read a book written by Bishop Oyedepo on how to sow seed. After reading the book I sold all the church properties and sowed the proceeds in another church.

“When I relocated to Lagos, I started collecting money from people, deceiving them that I am in Israel. I told them that I had issues trying to set up a church and needed money to grow the ministry.

“I used all the money I collected from them to sow seed in Redemption camp. I collected N1.9 million from one of the victims, N1.255 million from another, N2.5 million from the third and N900,000 and a Toyota Camry from the fourth victim. I sowed the Camry as seed in Winners Chapel in Otta.

According to reports, Mr. Nnaegbo, who hails from Anambra State, deceived his victims by telling them that he had issues in Israel where he was trying to set up a church. He claimed to have sowed proceeds from the fraud in two mega churches in Lagos.

The so-called man of God, whose phone was filled with pornographic images, got arrested in his hideout at Igando, after one of the victims got suspicious of the incessant demands that came from the pastor who was in Israel.

“I was arrested through my younger brother who I sent to collect money from one of the victims, unknown to me that he had discovered that he was being defrauded and had reported to Ilemba Divisional Police, and they arrested me.

While going through his phone, pornographic videos were found, which he claims to help him with his sexual urges, as he doesn’t have intercourse with women.

The case has been transferred from Ilemba Divisional Police to Area K Command, and is currently being investigated at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Yaba.
