LINDSAY Lohan is reportedly resorting to selling off her designer clothes to pay her tax bill.
The troubled actress, 26, sent her sister Ali, 18, off to a vintage clothing store in Los Angeles to flog her most valuable clothes, shoes and accessories, reports US website RadarOnline.
The apparent drastic move comes after her bank accounts were seized by the Internal Revenue Service.
Lindsay owed around £146,000 to the IRS in 2010 and fell well short of her unpaid tax bill for 2011, despite a £62,000 donation from her friend Charlie Sheen.
However, Ali’s attempts to make big money off her sibling’s possessions reportedly ended in huge disappointment.
A source told Radar Online that Ali was heard moaning: “Thirty dollars for these? They cost $700! This is ridiculous!”
She then allegedly tried to convince high-end store Wasteland of the items’ worth by revealing the famous events Lindsay had sported the designs.
Ali apparently insisted: “These have to be worth more, Lindsay was photographed wearing them, that has to add value.”
It’s said that the aspiring model failed to shift the gear.
The unpaid tax bill is the latest issue looming over Lindsay.
Last month she was charged with assault following an altercation in a New York nightclub and she’s been accused of lying to police by telling them she wasn’t in the driving seat when her Porsche crashed in June.
And her bid to revive her ailing acting career has been dealt a severe blow too.
Lindsay’s comeback film – made-for-TV flick Liz & Dick – has been universally panned by critics, as her performance in the Elizabeth Taylor biopic.
