Group Captain Salaudeen Adebola Latinwo (Rtd), a former military governor of Kwara State, has passed away.
He reportedly passed away at the age of 80 on Saturday, August 12 in the early hours of the morning in the United Kingdom (UK) following a protracted illness.
Latinwo, a retired group captain in the Nigerian Air Force, was born on July 12th, 1943, and held the position of military governor of Kwara State during Major General Muhammadu Buhari’s military government from January 1984 to August 1985.
Born in Offa, Latinwo was a pioneering group of officer cadets recruited into the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in 1963, working under Colonel Gerhard Kahtz, the first chief of air staff of the NAF, who was serving as the head of the German Air Force Assistance Group (GAFAG) while on secondment to the NAF.
In the meantime, retired Group Captain Salaudeen Adebola Latinwo, a former military administrator of the state, passed away. Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq expressed his condolences to the state’s residents, particularly the Offa community.
