Enugu State caucus in the House of Representatives, Tuesday, endorsed the creation of Adada from the present Enugu State with capital in Nsukka.
Briefing newsmen on the clamour for Adada State, Chairman, House Committee on Marine Transport, Ifeanyi Uguanyi, who read the statement on behalf of other Reps said: “The request for creation of Adada State has received the endorsement of all the senators, members of the House of Representatives and local government council members from the Area.
“In addition, the Enugu State House of Assembly as well as the chairmen and councillors of all the local government councils in Enugu State (in particular those from the area in question) have endorsed the creation of Adada State.”
Uguanyi explained that Adada state initiative had the backing of many traditional rulers, clergy, leaders of thought, intellectuals and academia, political leaders, women and youth groups.
He said: “Significantly also, the House of Representatives on March 16, 1983, passed a resolution in support of the creation of Adada State.
“Adada state creation process has satisfied all the requirements of Section 8 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999.
