Yemi Alade in a moment of reflection lets her thoughts out about the way some Nigerian music self- acclaimed critics usually are gender biased and don’t do proper research on artists before they come out to criticize.
“They don’t do any form of research, they don’t listen to the artist songs, then they just say shit”, the singer fumes.
“I’m smiling to the bank, be there questioning my lyrics…”, she adds.
The ‘Johnny’ singer also took it from the gender angle saying the critics don’t even know when they are biased gender wise, arguing that they only pay attention to female artiste’s lyrics, and not the male folks’.
“They don’t know when they try to pick on females, Enough is Enough, y’all just shut up”, the singer rages.
She then made reference to international pop artiste’s lyrics saying those artistes make it simple and basic for dumb people to find it easy to hear what they are saying, which kind of implied that only smart people take time to listen to lyrics of songs from artistes like her.
