Emmanuel Fernandez has been named Rangers FC Men’s Player of the Year for the 2025/26 season after an impressive first campaign at the club.
The 24-year-old Super Eagles defender, who joined Rangers from Peterborough United, initially had a slow start but later established himself as a key figure in the team’s defence.
His strong performances, consistency, and rapid development earned him praise throughout the season.
Renowned for his aerial strength and ability to score goals, the centre-back was also included in the PFA Scotland Premiership Team of the Year.
Due to his outstanding displays, he has reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal FC, West Ham United, and Feyenoord.
His club form also earned him a first call-up to the Nigeria national football team, where he made his debut on March 27, 2026, in a 2-1 win over Iran national football team.
Fernandez quickly made an impact internationally, scoring his first goal for Nigeria soon after in a match against Jordan national football team.
