Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has intensified his ongoing conflict with U.S. President Donald Trump, publicly backing a call for Trump’s impeachment and suggesting Vice President J.D. Vance should take his place.
The controversy reignited after political commentator Ian Miles Cheong posted on X:
“President vs Elon. Who wins? My money’s on Elon. Trump should be impeached and JD Vance should replace him.”
To which Musk replied simply: “Yes.”
This endorsement comes as tensions between the two figures escalate. Musk recently criticized Trump’s proposed tariffs, warning:
“The Trump tariffs will cause a recession in the second half of this year,” he wrote on X.
Adding fuel to the fire, Musk previously claimed that Trump is mentioned in the Jeffrey Epstein files, a statement that triggered widespread speculation online.
In response, Trump reportedly threatened to cancel all of Musk’s government-related contracts, took credit for forcing him out of Washington, and labeled him “CRAZY!”
Meanwhile, Musk is also said to be considering pulling SpaceX’s involvement with NASA, including critical missions to the International Space Station.
In a further twist, Trump ally Steve Bannon has reportedly called for Musk’s deportation, citing his South African background.
