Tanzanian protesters have allegedly broken into and looted singer Juma Jux’s fashion store.
According to Naijalog, the chaos began on Thursday after a controversial general election that saw key opposition leaders detained and disqualified.
Demonstrators are calling for the election results to be cancelled, claiming the presidential vote was marred by irregularities.
In the middle of the unrest, an X user, Bolaji Fesomade, claimed that Jux’s store reported to be worth $780 million was set on fire by protesters.
However, Juma Jux’s wife, Priscilla Ojo, debunked the report on her Snapchat, clarifying that the store was not burnt but looted. She wrote: “Looted not Burnt”.
