Reports reaching us indicate that another Ebola patient has died.

Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh one of the doctors who treated late Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian who imported Ebola virus to Nigeria has died this afternoon at Mainland hospital, Yaba, where she has been isolated. Dr Ameyo is survived by a son and her husband Mr Aneyo.

Just a few days ago, her colleagues and family cried out for help,begging the US to send the experimental drug to save her life..The drug never came.

A press statement by the Special Assistant on Media to the Health Minister, Mr. Dan Nwomeh, said, “The Honourable Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu regrets to announce the death, this evening, of one of the primary contacts of the index Ebola Virus Disease case, the most senior doctor who participated in the management of the patient, a female consultant physician.

“With this unfortunate development the total number of Ebola Virus related deaths in Nigeria now stands at five.

“The other two patients currently under treatment in the isolation wards are stable and are being taken care of.”
