A driver, who allegedly stole his boss’ Automated Teller Machine, ATM, card, and two other suspected fraudsters are currently being investigated by the Lagos State Police Command for cloning and withdrawing funds from their victim’s account.
The suspects, identified as Mayowa Adenuga, 25, from Ogun State; Jeremiah Ibitoye, 26, from Osun State, who specialise in cyber fraud; were arrested after withdrawing N2.8 million from a victim’s account.
The three-man group used an unknown software to deactivate the owners’ ATM pin number and stopped the victim from receiving withdrawal alerts on their registered mobile number.
“I stole my boss ATM card when he misplaced it. I returned it to him after my friends and I cloned the card with Revolar. “Since we cannot withdraw more than N100, 000 through the ATM per day, we use the POS to shop online,” Adenuga revealed.
